We just completed refacing some very faded fire lane signs for Geri at The Arbors at Mountain Shadows — a group of 140 individually owned Condominiums located in the northwest section of Colorado Springs,  El Paso County, CO 80919. There are 28 buildings in the Community.  Alicia Point and Denton Grove are the two streets within the Community.  The Arbors is a wonderful Community Association with maturing landscaping, a beautiful clubhouse, pool and spa. We reused to the existing aluminum signs by hammering out the creases and dents then cleaning the oxidized surface. Once the .040 aluminum substrate was clean and flat we refaced them with 3M 40C Controltac vinyl and 3M UV resistant laminate. I’m betting these will last much longer than the painted only signs and for about the same cost as cheap online ordered signs. 3M 40C vinyl is a grey permanent adhesive 3 mil calendered vinyl with Comply/air egress, but also now with Contoltac/slideability. that can be used for many purposes from general signage to vehicle graphics on flat or simple curved surfaces. We really like this vinyl for up to 7 year expected outdoor performance life (non-floor applications). It is great for indoor floor graphics when used with 8509 laminate (3 months) or 8510 laminate. Great for partial vehicle wraps, indoor and outdoor signs, walls, and window graphics. If your signs need updating or replaced, call us at 719-237-7622 or visit our website at www.pinnaclesigns.org
